The Nest’s Challenge Woods offers 330m2 of outdoor play, built into the surrounding trees and woodland and lit in the darker, winter months. Perfect for birthday parties, groups or for families looking for a place to play outdoors, the area is equipped with walkways, ladders, ropes, climbing wall, slide, swing, zip lines – children will love it!
Carers (18+) of disabled visitors – Free, as long as the disabled visitor is in receipt of DLA or PIP.
Children must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
About the Challenge Woods
The Challenge Woods is an exciting flexible wooden play space built around the trees in the woods. The design has a series of raised walkways, play equipment, slides, ladders, ropes, cargo nets, a 35-metre zip line, 9-metre toddler zip line, swing, treehouse and a climbing wall.
Sensory activities enable learning and participation for those with physical and mental disabilities.
Accessibility
Wheelchair users enter the woods for free as some areas of the woods cannot be easily accessed. The ramps to the tree house is accessible for assisted wheelchair users.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use the Challenge Woods?
The Challenge Woods has been designed to accommodate children ages 4+ depending on their confidence, skills and height. Younger children or SEN children may require parent / carer assistance to access some of the areas.
Younger children (ages 0-3) are welcome to try the equipment out with parent supervision.
While there is no max. age limit to the Challenge Woods, the equipment is aimed at those under the age of 12.
What will I need to wear?
We would advise you to wear comfy flat shoes or trainers and dress appropriately for the weather.
Can I buy food & drink?
Yes, our café in the Hub building has a wide selection of snacks, hot food and drinks, and is open every day (excl. bank holidays).
What if it snows or there is lightning during my booked slot?
If we have to close for bad weather, a credit note will be provided for you to rebook another day.
